What is minecraft? Go there and check out the video, but in their words:
Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens.
The style of this game is very cool. It’s almost retro, but has very modern graphics capabilities. Better yet, it’s currently only $13! (That price will go up as he enters into Beta).
If that part is cool, the story is perhaps cooler. Minecraft was developed by one guy. That’s all. That alone was worth my $13, to support efforts like that. Now he’s got a programming team together and is going to turn his world environment into a full fledged game (as opposed to a free-roaming world).
Anyway, I got the game, got a few friends that are interested, and set up a server! Now we’re on there building together, saving each other from zombie and skeleton infestations, and exploring the world.
